Thursday March 28th
Hosted by Dr. Ben King (School of Theology): “Flipping Heck! Experimenting with a Flipped Classroom.” For three years, Dr. Ben King has experimented with incorporating technology into his classes in the form of an iBook and “flipped” lectures.
To “flip” part of a class, he spent a year recording videos of his lectures and making them available on iTunes U.
The goal was to break larger classes into smaller discussion groups and to utilize more course time for discussion.
Come find out what worked, what didn’t, how learners perceived the experiment, and what has happened since this project began three years ago.
Ben is associate professor of Church history and director of the Advanced Degrees Program at the School of Theology.
