New Publications from Brosend and Holloway

Two of the School of Theology's faculty—the Rev. Dr. William Brosend, professor of homiletics and New Testament, and Dr. Paul Holloway, University professor of classics and ancient Christianity—have recently published books.

High Demand for Teachers of French

The Southern Teachers Agency, the premier placement agency for private schools in the South since 1902, currently has an unprecedented number of mid-year openings that their schools are trying to fill as soon as possible. French majors should complete their online application now to become a candidate. The Southern Teachers’ Best of the South Job Fair on February 4 in Atlanta, GA. The fair is free for active candidates. To become “active,” candidates must complete the online application, be accepted by Southern Teachers, and interview with their Southern Teachers placement counselor by January 24. Professor Amy Patterson Receives Grant

Amy Patterson, Professor of Politics at The University of the South, Sewanee, TN, has received a grant from the Global Religion Research Initiative at Notre Dame University (funded by Templeton Foundation) to study how churches shape citizenship norms and behavior among youth in Africa.

Winter Convocation to be held January 19

The University of the South’s Winter Convocation will be held Friday, Jan. 19. Honorary degrees will be presented, Nancy Berner will be installed the eighth provost of the University, and approximately 110 new members will be inducted into the Order of the Gown.
