News from Dr. Cesar Leal

  • César Leal has been invited to guest conduct the Murfreesboro Symphony during its 2018-19 season.  His first two appearances will feature a wide variety of repertoire, including works by Latin American composers, Film Music, and Masterworks by composers such as Beethoveen, Dukas, Rossini, and Mussorgsky.
  • Guncotton, the award-winning artistic collaboration between Greg Pond (Sewanee professor), Baning Boulding (New Dialect), Cesar Leal (Sewanee professor), and Jessica Usherwood (DePauw University) is currently in exhibition in Chattanooga, TN.  After the exhibits at Zeitgeist Gallery (Nasville, TN) and Wester Michigan University,  this collaborative work will be featured at Melt my Heart, an exhibit curated by Mike Calway-Fagen for Stove Works. 
  • During the Summer of 2019, Cesar Leal will be principal conductor of the Alfredo de Saint Malo International Music Festival in Ciudad dePanamá.
