Sewanee is a Major Presence at 2016 GSA Conference

Four Sewanee professors participated in the September, 2016 Conference of the German Studies Association in San Diego, CA. Dr. Liesl Allingham led a panel called Allies Across Time: Sex, Gender, and Race (Sponsored by Women in German) and delivered a paper: Opposition from Within (1): (Counter)Memory in Karoline von Günderrode. Dr. Richard Apgar participated in a seminar on travel literature. Dr. Andrea Kikkert gave a presentation entitled Mapping Hugo Wolf's Literary Landscape, and moderated a panel on the financial crisis and refugees in Europe. Dr. Reinhard Zachau delivered a presentation on Jewish women's underground stories in Nazi Berlin and was a commentator on a Nazi legacy panel.
