Oktoberfest at the German House

On October 21, the German Department and the German House celebrated Oktoberfest in and outside the House. The weather was splendid and numerous students and faculty attended. Thanks to the advertising by Dr. Liesl Allingham, faculty advisor to the House, the cooking and careful preparation of Leonie Weight, the German exchange student, and James Hausman, the House manager, as well as the other House residents it was a big success. German food was a hit: Bratwürste, Rotkraut, pretzels, two kinds of German potato salad, Lebkuchenherzen (gingerbread hearts), etc.
