Dr. Apgar to Use Digital Mapping in German Classes

Dr. Richard Apgar participated in a three-week seminar on the Spatial Humanities at the National Humanities Center this summer. The seminar, led by Dr. John Corrigan (Dept. of Religion, Florida State University), covered mapping, visual analysis, and spatial theory. Dr. Apgar plans to use digital mapping techniques from the seminar in his course on 20th century Germany in spring 2017 and publish the results with colleagues from the seminar in a special issue of the International Journal of Humanities and Arts Computing on using spatial analysis with students at liberal arts colleges. The seminar was funded by the Jesse Ball DuPont Fund.
